Sports fans at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina will now be able to have their faces printed on sports figurines from a 3D selfie printing kiosk. This kiosk, developed by ZVerse, will allow users to take selfies and integrate their headshot into a figurine, according to a report by 3D Print.
Once users take their selfie, they can then customize the figurine's uniform, name and number, body skin tone and poses. Each figurine costs $69 to produce and is shipped to the user within a week. In addition to the kiosk, users can go to ZVerse's site to upload an image.
"The photo booth is about as ultimate and instant customization as it gets," ZVerse co-founder and CRO Kevin Maloney said. "It's kind of like you're playing PlayStation."
Maloney believes that 3D printing can help modernize brands. "We believe the in-venue photo booths, along with the online component, are going to be a huge five-year opportunity outside of the traction we've already seen with the 3D printing of stadiums," Maloney said. "It's all about branding. The schools love it because we're helping to modernize their brand."
