San Diego has landed a new way to check out library books, with a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week self-service library checkout kiosk, according to CBS 8 TV.
San Diego County recently deployed the "Library to Go" kiosk at the County Operations Center; the kiosk offers library cardholders access to hundreds of the most recent book and movie releases, CBS 8 said:
"I honestly think that as people become familiar with this, it's going to get very heavy use ... the convenience of being able to come here, preorder if you want. If you don't, there's a long selection to draw on. This may be the library of the future," County Supervisor Ron Roberts said.
The kiosk is only the second of its kind in the country, and the first on the West Coast.
