Why you should be using thermal printer cleaning cards

As I have discussed in previous posts, regular maintenance of your kiosk is important to keep it running smoothly. This week I will be focusing on thermal printer cleaning cards. The benefits of regular cleaning include:

• Increased life of print-head
• Reduces faded receipts or erroneous barcodes
• Reduces need for reprints
• Reduces manpower associated with broken equipment
• Reduces damage to printer due to self-help attempts

Thermal printer cleaning cards safely remove the accumulation of dirt, ink, tape, adhesive residue and other contaminants from thermal print heads, paper guides and paper paths. This residue can impede the heat transfer necessary for an error free print. This product will improve printer quality, legibility as well as increasing output.

Thermal printer cleaning cards can be used on label printers, direct/transfer thermal printers, airline ticket bag tag (ATB) printers, barcode printers and receipt printers. A cleaning card should be used before inserting every new roll of label, ticket, paper or ribbon stock.
