Getting ready for Consumer Engagement Technology World

September 30, 2010 by Frank Olea

Every fall I find myself looking forward to getting the kids back into school and a real work schedule. Seems the summer months can be real hard to get clients together for meetings on a consistent basis because of vacations and such. Fall also means it’s time to get ready for Kioskcom or CETW as it’s now known. I have to admit it's going to be tough not to call it Kioskcom. After all I believe this is my 10th or 11th year of exhibiting at the show. I remember it being in a small hotel in Orlando with maybe 20 companies exhibiting. I myself was only 25 years of age.

Now many years later I'm the CEO of Olea Kiosks and still find myself struggling with our booth and the proper presentation for the show. If you know of the company or have been to the show you know that we try our best to always stand out and bring something new. It's sort of hard not to do that since Olea's original roots are in tradeshow design and manufacturing. I myself grew up in the company because it was started shortly before I was born. I spent all of my days after school at the “shop” and all of my summer vacations.

I can't complain about the time spent because it groomed me well for the position that I'm in now. For as long as I can remember I spent most of my time hanging around in the design department with the designers and engineers. Sure I spent time in the shop working alongside my father but my passion has always been the design aspect.

In order to win business in the exhibit world you had to have the best designs and the most competitive service. It’s because of that background Olea is the way it is today. We strive to create the best possible designs for our clients and our customer service is always priority #1.

Today I'm proud to say Olea is now 100% kiosk focused and we no longer manufacture tradeshow exhibits. We've also come a very long way from the first wooden kiosk we made way back in 1983. Over the coming months I'll be writing this blog to discuss and share how Olea works with its clients to come up with the kiosk designs that we manufacture.

By the time you read this our booth for CETW will be well along on its way to being ready for the show along with two exciting new products that will be shown for the very first time. Our SoHo model kiosk that has some ground breaking features that I will discuss in an upcoming article and our new line of iPad kiosks that are now in production.
