Since 2 April 2026, every public and private entity in Spain has been required to accept MiDNI, the official digital ID card issued by the National Police, with the same legal validity as the physical card. For casinos and gaming venues, this affects the most sensitive point of the operation: admission. Every customer who walks in must be identified and checked against gambling exclusion registers. When the entry terminal cannot read MiDNI, staff fall back on manual checks, which are slower and leave more room for error.
