Adding a self service kiosk machine to your business can help to redistribute the time of your employees to other aspects of customer service and many are well received as society moves toward more cashless and contactless ordering and payment options. The self-kiosk can improve the speed of check out or ordering, make payments easy and fast, and create a more interactive experience for guests. There are kiosk systems suitable to many businesses and tasks, but to be successful they must have the correct hardware and the right software for your business for correct integration.

When your kiosk machine is not a correct match to your terminal needs there are some ways to correct the problem. It is key to have the correct compatibility between your kiosk terminal and the rest of your systems. The point of sale terminal must be able to be located within or on the kiosk itself, and it must be able to connect correctly to the kiosk system. If they are not a good fit the options include purchasing a different point of sale pin pad that is compatible with the kiosk machine, locate and purchase an adaptation kit that will allow you to install your current point of sale terminal with the kiosk machine, or to locate a different kiosk.

If the kiosk operating systems are not connecting correctly it may be possible to switch the operating system of either your business or point of sale or that of the kiosk machine itself. Though they come preloaded with an operational system it may be possible to have that operating system altered to increase compatibility with the current system and to match your current system to the kiosk system. A technician may be able to provide the steps to bridge the compatibility problem or to alter the system to work better together. The compatibility problem may not be one that you can fix yourself, requiring the technician to go to the site and address the problem.

To avoid a compatibility problem consider your business software needs and what the hardware needs are that will match your needs. With many kiosk systems being created it is possible to find one that will fit both your hardware and your software needs, that has the correct connections and supports for your current point of sale terminals, and that will be able to work with your systems. The hardware is more difficult to change at a later date so it must fit the location, have the needed mounting capability whether you need it to be mounted to a wall or remain free standing, and have the correct hardwire, WiFi, or Bluetooth connectivity to fit with your location requirements. A kiosk machinethat has Bluetooth or WiFi capability included can offer a more wire free kiosk machine with fewer limitations and can offer some compatibility options that are not otherwise available.
