LONDON - Expecting to cash in on the "gaming in pubs" craze in Europe, Internet gaming technology company World Gaming plc (OTCBB:WGMGY) unveiled a new entertainment kiosk at the International Casino Exhibition show, running Jan. 22-24 in London.
Working with kiosk manufacturer PC Kiosk, World Gaming plans to make its gaming programs available in kiosk form to pubs, hotels, and other high-traffic public areas throughout Europe. The company's new software package includes casino games, wagering, bingo, and lottery programs.
"There is strong industry demand for alternative gaming environments such as kiosks," Michael Aymong, World Gaming chief executive officer, said in a news release. "This is therefore an important initiative for the company and we look forward to being able to offer the market a strong kiosk product in 2002."
Aymong did not disclose any agreements for deploying the kiosks in the marketplace. World Gaming software is currently used by more than 750 Web sites handling customers in 50 countries.
