FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.-- WireSpring Technologies, a developer of software for public information terminals, today announced the beginning of a 60-day public beta test period for version 2.5 of FireCast, its Linux-based kiosk software suite.
Version 2.5 brings improved remote management, enhanced reporting and more robust security controls to the kiosk industry's premier packaged Linux solution. Additionally, it is the first release of FireCast capable of reading Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.
The FireCast software suite is a complete solution for building and managing public information terminals, such as self-service kiosks and digital signage systems. The suite is comprised of FireCast OS, a Linux-based operating system custom-tailored to the interactive kiosk and digital signage markets, and FireCast ClientCenter, a robust, Web-based remote management package.
"The FireCast 2.5 beta represents a key milestone for WireSpring," said William Gerba, WireSpring's CEO. "This release delivers the features that customers have been asking for, while giving them the opportunity to influence the final product."
