EVERETT, Wash. -- Intermec's EasyLAN Wireless interface now supports 802.1x security in its EasyCoder 4420, 4440, and 3400e 200 dpi or 400 dpi printers.
The support for 802.1x security is standard in version 4.1 of the EasyLAN Wireless firmware and is available as a free download from the Web to upgrade older firmware versions.
"Wireless printing delivers unmatched flexibility and is now extremely secure as well," said Doug Hall, director of printer marketing for Intermec, in a news release.
"The 802.1x security on EasyCoder printers is easy to deploy and scaleable to handle the growing numbers of wireless LAN users."
Intermec EasyCoder printers include wireless, portable and "smart" models for label and receipt applications.
