Wincor takes on self-service management for German savings banks

September 21, 2012

Wincor Nixdorf today announced that it is assuming responsibility for the remote monitoring of more than 11,800 self-service systems at a total of 108 Sparkasse banks throughout Germany. The latest to join up are Taunus Sparkasse with 84 systems and Sparkasse am Niederrhein with 153 self-service systems.

A news release from Wincor Nixdor said that services provided to the individual institutions will range from standalone remote service to self-service system operations management. These services are supplied by Wincor Nixdorf or its subsidiaries ProsystemsIT and Portavis.

Under the terms of remote service, the Sparkasse systems will be monitored 24/7 from afar using eServices Platform technology. Specific remote measures can be initiated to remedy problems as soon as they are detected. Wincor said that more than 30 percent of faults can be rectified via remote access.

In addition to remote service, the company also will be responsible for administration of the self-service systems and applications for Sparkasse banks. Wincor will provide a help desk to support the savings banks on both IT and banking issues.
