WIN Enterprises announces motherboard for kiosks

NORTH ANDOVER, Md. — WIN Enterprises Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of embedded controllers and network platforms for OEMs, announced the MB-73170 Mini ITX motherboard, which is designed for applications requiring high performance in a small form.

Powered by the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the MB-73170 can be used in point-of-sale systems, mobile kiosks, factory automation, gaming machines, multimedia and digital signage.

The board features six USB 2.0 ports and six COM ports. The MB-73170 is equipped with an on-board TPM 1.2 chip to provide a runtime mechanism for encryption support during transaction, communication and signature phases. TPM 1.2 assists in verification of user authentication and authorization.

The Intel 965 chipset enables broad operating system support that includes Windows XP, XP Embedded and Vista (this includes 64-bit versions). Support is provided for Fedora 9, Suse 11, Debian/Ubuntu, Gentoo and Redhat, as well as the Unix-like FreeBSD.
