Washington state has become the next state to require electric vehicle charging companies to include Tesla's plug to be part of a state program to electrify highways using federal dollars, according to a Reuters report.
Washington follows Texas in requiring EV charging companies to use Tesla's technology, the North American Charging Standard, supporting Tesla's bid to become the national charging technology.
Automakers Ford, General Motors and Rivian have committed to using Tesla's standard, thwarting the Biden administration's plan to make the Combined Charging System the dominant U.S. charging standard.
