Walmart introduced a new store design today featuring more self-checkout kiosks and contactless payment options planned for 200 locations this fiscal year, which ends in early 2021, and another 1,000 by next fiscal year, according to a USA Today report.
Janey Whiteside, chief customer officer and an executive vice president, said the design saves shoppers time and was planned prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
The design has been tested in some Arkansas stores, Whiteside said.
