San DiegoUnion Tribune: Amid the ongoing controversy about the security of electronic-voting machines, the vast majority of California voters have some degree of confidence that their votes are being counted accurately, according to a new Field Poll. In August, Secretary of State Debra Bowen banned most touchscreen voting machines in California "to begin rebuilding the voter confidence in the systems we use to conduct elections." The Field Poll indicates that voter confidence is already fairly high among voters.
