Vermont will provide $7 million to support the installation of EV charging stations under a newly announced program to increase access to EV charging, according to a press release.

Green Mountain Power will administer the Vermont Community Electric Vehicle Chargers Incentive Program grants to parties that submit pre-applications on the program website, vermontevchargers.com

The new program builds on the Multiunit EV Charging Pilot program that launched in 2022 that supports 84 Level 2 EV charging stations at 37 locations.

Incentives will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible applicants. Pre-approved electrical contractors and local electric utilities will also offer technical assistance to help applicants who may have limited experience with EV charging.

To ensure fair distribution, there will be caps on the total incentives issued per applicant, per site and per county.
