Veridicom announces next-gen personal identity device

April 24, 2005

SEATTLE - Veridicom International Inc. announced in a news release the launch of VKI-V, an identity device for personal authentication and secure transactions for enterprises and consumers. VKI-V is locked until a valid fingerprint match is performed within the device from a fingerprint sensor and embedded processor.

VKI-V (pronounced "vicky vee") or "V" secures corporate and personal information on a portable USB device. Data files, corporate and personal financial information, medical records, passwords and other sensitive information can be securely stored on the device without the need to install drivers or other software on a computer. In addition, digital certificates can be securely stored within the device and seamlessly passed to other applications. VKI-V allows only the owner and owner defined participants to access the device and its contents.

According to the release, one of the key benefits of VKI-V is its ability to integrate with multiple applications via a single device. These applications include secure access and distribution of downloaded content, secure financial transactions, loyalty program identification, HIPAA compliance for storage of health records, and numerous other government, corporate and consumer applications.
