VendTek announces third order for e-Fresh kiosks

April 22, 2002

VANCOUVER -

VendTek Systems Inc. (CDNX: VSI) today announced an order valued at $800,000 for 100 units of its e-Fresh network kiosks, the company's proprietary electronic distribution and payments system for pre-paid cellular time. The order has been paid in full in advance of shipment.

This contract, to be fulfilled in VendTek's first quarter of 2001, brings the total value of orders from its UK customer ROK Communications Limited to $4.5 million.

The e-Fresh Network consists of a central server running VendTek's transaction processing software connected to multiple e-Fresh stations. The network can support tens of thousands of stations in a single country. The system includes proprietary encryption technology for securing the transmission of the transactions and significantly reduces the operating costs for telecom companies, improving efficiencies and profits.

The kiosk orders represent one side of VendTek's revenue model, the company said. The other side is the recurring revenues generated by VendTek's software that drives the e- Fresh network. The company expects both revenue streams - one fixed, one reocurring - to add to Vendtek's top and bottom-line growth.
