Vendors team up on remote access in Japan

TORONTO -- 01 Communique Laboratory Inc., provider of integrated communications and remote access services, announced that strategic business partner Hitachi Business Solution has entered into an agreement with K-Opticom to make their DoMobile remote access service available to K-Opticom's high-speed Internet service customers.

K-Opticom is a leading provider of Internet connectivity services in Western Japan. A news release did not disclose further terms of the agreement.

Hitachi Business Solution is the master licensee of 01 Communique's "I'm InTouch" remote access service in Japan, responsible for marketing the service and managing the infrastructure. I'm InTouch has been completely customized for the Japanese market and is being marketed by Hitachi Business Solution under the brand name of DoMobile.

I'm InTouch is a secure remote access service that allows mobile professionals to connect with their home or office computers to access information anywhere, anytime using any device with an Internet connection: a PC at a corporate branch office, a hotel business center or an airport Internet kiosk.
