TOKYO -- Asia Netcom and NEC announced the launch of IP-multicast technology for business and government agencies in Japan.

According to NEC, IPv6 multicast video applications being adopted by local businesses and government agencies in Japan include:

  • Video broadcast to multiple locations for corporate seminars and presentations.
  • Service and product training to multiple office locations and franchisees.
  • Security monitoring of factories and branch offices in multiple sites across Japan.
  • Local information distribution and public announcements from government sources to local public kiosks across Japan.
