Vending machines providing free medical grade safety masks will be installed in service centers in 18 Hong Kong districts, according to a dazeddigital.com report. The 35 machines and 10 million face masks will be provided by Adrian Cheng, founder of China's K11 Art Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the development of the contemporary art scene in Greater China. The vending machines have been provided to eight service centers operated by eight non-government organizations.
Residents will pre-register online for a “smart redemption card,” which contains a QR code that can be scanned at one of the designated centers each week to redeem a pack of five masks.
Cheng will also donate 300,000 face masks to the U.K.
