An online bookstore catering to Black and Indigenous fiction has expanded to offering its books in vending machines, according to a kqed.com report.

The machines are located at the Oaklandia Café x Bakery in Oakland, California and in Mill Creek, Washington and in Shoreline, Washington.

Isis Asare, who created and operates the Sistah Scifi online bookstore, hopes to double the number of Black and Indigenous speculative fiction writers on the New York Times Best Sellers list.

Asare calls the books "Afrofuturism and Indigenous futurism."

The machines offer about a dozen paper backs and graphic novels and accepts cash and credit cards.

Asare hopes to have 10 machines nationwide by June.
