VASCO exploring e-mail options with Whale

BRUSSELS, Belgium, and FORT LEE, N.J. -- Electronic communications companies VASCO Data Security International (NASDAQ:VDSI) and Whale Communications have created a partnership to provide remote e-mail access solutions.

VASCO's Digipass and Whale's e-Gap Webmail Appliance will be teamed in a package officials from the two companies said would provide security and easy access solutions for remote e-mail applications, such as interactive kiosks and Internet cafes.

Daniel Steiner, Whale Communications president, said the package will be marketed for both personal and corporate use.

Based in Fort Lee, N.J., Whale Communications specializes in web-based security solutions. VASCO is a provider of enterprise-wide security products.
