ARLINGTON, Va. -- US Airways reached another online milestone when a New Jersey woman became the one-millionth passenger to check in at usairways.com. US Airways launched online Flight Check-In in December 2002.
The passenger was awarded two roundtrip tickets valid for travel anywhere US Airways flies in North America.
"Flight Check-In at usairways.com is an excellent complement to our ticket agents and kiosks at the airport, especially in the busy holiday travel season," said Kerry Carstairs, US Airways vice president of direct distribution.
Customers with e-tickets for travel on US Airways within the U.S. can check in on the usairways.com homepage beginning 24 hours, and up to 90 minutes, prior to departure by entering personal and flight departure information. Once in the reservation, customers can view the itinerary, select seats, and print boarding passes. Passengers needing to check baggage can do so at curbside.
US Airways customers also check in and obtain boarding passes at 445 self-service check-in kiosks throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. See related stories, "US Airways enhances check-in kiosks," "First multiple-airline check-in system makes debut."
