Upstate Networks Inc., a Utica, New York based manufacturer of products interfacing kiosks and vending machines to PCs, is seeking a partner to test its cryptocurrency payment interface for unattended kiosks and vending machines, according to a press release.
"We're actively looking for a partner with a network of machines and routes to help us with the testing," UNI President Christopher Smolen said in the press release.
The partnership would allow UNI to install its PLUM interface into each of the partner's machines. Installation includes bringing the network online, as well as creation and provision of a branded PLUM-based wallet app.
UNI collaborated with Quotidian Engineering and Development Corp. and researcher Stu Card, Ph.D on the PLUM interface.
In addition to providing a payment interface, the system offers its own native cryptocurrency for cashless transactions. PLUM is currently listed on Uniswap, a decentralized cryptocurrency exchange.
"This isn't just a fad," said Smolen. "When the excitement of cryptocurrency dies down, the game-changing technology of blockchain will remain. The future of cashless payment includes cryptocurrency."
