University of Houston intros laptop borrowing kiosk

The University of Houston recently installed a self-service kiosk for students to borrow laptops, according to the university website. The laptops are available from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and must be returned the same day they are checked out. The kiosk is available on the fifth floor at the W. I. Dykes Library and holds up to 12 laptops.

Currently enrolled UHD students can check out one laptop at a time using a valid student ID.

The kiosk is an alternative to in-person checkout, which required a student worker to manually verify the user's ID number and required the user to sign an agreement.
