United adds self-service for holiday travel

November 19, 2007

CHICAGO — In an effort to help travelers during the holiday season, United Airlines has added 140 self-service kiosks at gate areas in some of the country's busiest airports.

The kiosks have United's Easy Rebook software, which allows customers to make changes to their itineraries, such as placing themselves on the stand-by list for an earlier flight.

United also is adding more than 78 Easy Bag Claim kiosks in baggage-claim areas, where they will facilitate customers' ability to scan barcodes on their baggage-claim tags to see exactly where their baggage is and to which claim belt it will be delivered.
