MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Uniguest of Tennessee, a wholly owned subsidiary of Showintel Networks (OTC Bulletin Board: SWNW), says it has secured contracts to install Internet access terminals in five additional hotels in the Memphis area, increasing the total number of installations to 14 hotels throughout Greater Memphis.
According to a news release, the additional properties include two more Best Inns, a Holiday Inn Express, a Comfort Inn and a Super 8.
Uniguest also says it has signed TGI Friday's, Dan McGuinness Pub and Huey's, among other advertisers, to be listed on www.uniguest.com/memphisonthego, its Memphis area Web site portal that is displayed on each of its Internet access terminals.
"With the addition of these new properties and the initial response Uniguest has received from local advertisers, we are very confident that we are fulfilling a need in the market place," said Shawn Thomas, president of Uniguest, in the release
Uniguest expects to complete installations by Oct. 31, Thomas said.
In July, Showintel Networks announced it had received $200,000 from angel investors, to be used for kiosks at 11 theaters in Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri and Illinois.
With those kiosks, the company said it would have kiosks at 16 theaters at five states. According to Showintel, the kiosks allow customers to earn bonus points toward free movie tickets and purchase merchandise seen in the movies. (See related story Entertainment firm lands angel funding)
