UniComp intros new micro-kiosk at NRF Expo

January 12, 2003

NEW YORK CITY -- UniComp, Inc. (UCMP) a provider of interactive, automated customer self-service wireless kiosks unveiled its CS-Link 1500 micro-kiosk on Jan. 12, at the National Retail Federation's 92nd Annual Convention and Expo. The event runs until Jan. 15, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.

According to a release, the CS-Link 1500's compact footprint (smaller than an 8"x10" picture frame) can be mounted almost anywhere that will enhance a customer's shopping experience. The multimedia micro-kiosk provides a compact six-inch screen to address a wide range of customer needs such as supplying product location, advertisements and couponing and bill paying.

The CS-Link 1500 can then be taken to a retailer's back office by using its wireless, Web enabled connectivity to handle employee needs ranging from time and attendance and training issues to answering frequently asked human resource questions.

The unit weighs only 2.5 pounds and features an Intel RISC processor and expandable memory up to 1GB. Its 6.4-inch color display provides ease of use through a backlit resistive touchscreen.

To support a wide variety of front and back office retail applications, the CS-Link 1500 features an integrated scanner/imager, a magnetic-stripe reader (optional), programmable buttons and internal speakers.

The CS-Link 1500 also supports RS-232, RS-422/485 for serial and multi-port communications as well as Ethernet, wireless LAN and USB.

Attendees of the Expo can see the CS-Link 1500 at booth number 314.
