Asda, a U.K. supermarket chain, will introduce kiosks to about 300 stores that will allow shoppers to recycle phones for cash, according to a report in thegrocer.co.uk.
Asda has teamed with musicMagpie, an online retailer that buys and sells refurbished electronics, books, films and music.
The company has already tested 15 kiosks, called SMARTDrop kiosks, since November 2020. About 3,000 phones have been traded so far.
Customers can get paid immediately to a bank account or PayPal account.
