UK bar taps ITL MyCheckr for age verification

Liberty's Gin Bar in Warrington, U.K. has deployed an age-estimation device developed by Innovative Technology Ltd., a provider of age verification, facial recognition and face-covering detection technologies, to assist with age checks, according to a press release.

ITL's MyCheckr uses facial recognition and recommends whether or not the customer in front of the camera is 25 years of age or older, according to the ITL website.

"With no integration required, setup was quick and easy for Liberty's Gin Bar and results are instantly available to staff, as processing is performed locally on the device," Chris Wright, ITL U.K. business development manager, said in the press release. "The unit clearly shows the server if a manual ID check is recommended. Turning green if the customer passes the age check and red if they appear underage — making it a useful aid to help reduce potential confrontation when challenging customers for ID."
