Two public libraries in Henderson, Nev., now have redbox DVD-rental kiosks out front, part of a nationwide trial by redbox, according to the Las Vegas Sun. The kiosks are intended as an inexpensive alteranative to the long waiting lists for movies at the libraries, a spokeswoman for Henderson District Public Libraries told the newspaper.
Other locations in the pilot include Charlotte, N.C.; Lexington, K.Y.; and Orlando, Fla., a redbox spokesman told the paper. Libraries get 3 percent of the money redbox makes at their location, and there is a waiting list about 200 libraries long for the kiosks.
