The (British) Press Association: Approximately 2 million Britons admit to stealing goods when using supermarket self-scan checkouts in the past year, according to a recent survey. The poll for security company G4S found that 7 percent of adults say they have failed to scan the barcode of some items when using self-service facilities. The company calculated that the self-scan scam is costing retailers hundreds of millions of pounds a year.
