Turkey's largest bank takes to Wincor cash recyclers

July 30, 2013

Turkey's largest bank in terms of assets, Türkiye Is Bankasi, has ordered 335 CINEO cash recycling systems from Wincor Nixdorf. The company will also provide software applications and a service contact for hardware and software maintenance.

In addition to the option of depositing or withdrawing cash, Is Bank ATMs offer services such as bill pay, which allows customers to settle barcoded bills quickly and easily, the company said in a news release.

Additionally students can use the devices to top up funds on their electronic university cards. To accommodate these additional functions, the systems are equipped with contactless card and barcode readers.

For the past two years, Türkiye Is Bankasi has been installing only cash recycling systems — devices that verify and pay out deposited bank notes. The FI's decision to use Wincor cash recyclers was based on the results of extensive field tests, Wincor said. Installation of the additional CINEO systems will begin this summer.

Türkiye Is Bankasi has 25,000 employees serving 15 million customers. The FI operates 1,300 branches and 5,200 ATMs — the largest fleet in Turkey.
