TSA testing new security kiosk to check for fake IDs

June 8, 2012

According to Houston public radio station KUHF FM, the TSA is testing out a new security kiosk that checks the validity of passenger IDs at the Houston airport.

The kiosks are made by Morpho Trust USA, and are currently being tested in Houston, Puerto Rico and Virginia.

"The purpose of the kiosk is to improve the security, because of the number of different documents, while not delaying or making the process any longer," Ronald Weygand with Morpho Trust USA told the radio station. "There are probably over 1,300 different government IDs that are issued, when you look at all the states and all of the variations."
