St. Paul Pioneer Press:The bank of the future will be a lot more interactive and technology-driven, according to John Ryan Co., a consulting firm based in Minnetonka.
The company designed a traveling "bank lab," which just returned from an eight-week tour, to show the latest ideas to 45 banks across the country such as Bank of America in Charlotte, N.C.; TCF Bank in Wayzata; and U.S. Bank in Minneapolis.
The goal is for bank branches to attract more people, pique their interest and sell them more products more efficiently, said Dean Silverman, director of John Ryan. "You can't sell bank products like corn flakes, but you can make the products more accessible and engaging for customers," he said. This technology "puts the customer in control."
