Travelex deploys mobile, dual-sided FX kiosks at Hamad International Airport

Travelex has introduced a fleet of mobile currency exchange kiosks at Hamad International Airport, including what it claims is the region's first dual-sided design that allows service from both sides of the unit, according to a press release.

The rollout includes six mobile kiosks in the airport's new Concourses D and E, expanding access to more than 45 global currencies and pre-ordered travel money services. The units are designed to reduce wait times, increase visibility and offer more flexible placement in high-traffic areas.

"The surge in travelers to Doha is an exciting time both for Hamad International Airport and Qatar's tourism industry," Batu Dölay, managing director of Travelex Middle East and Türkiye, said in the release. "We are proud to improve the passenger journey by delivering more convenient, faster and innovative access to foreign currency services."

The mobile kiosks consume less energy and integrate with Travelex's digital platforms for contactless payment and express QR code pickup. The airport, which served more than 52 million passengers in 2024, now hosts a total of 15 Travelex locations.
