Transnet Wireless upgrades kiosk software, joins VendiStore platform

January 18, 2005

PLANTATION, Fla. - Transnet Wireless has partnered with self-service software developer WebRaiser Technologiesto update its wireless kiosks, according to a news release.

Brad Cartwright, president of Transnet Wireless, said the company selected WebRaiser's VendiStore software platform because it is the most flexible and comprehensive package available for use with Internet kiosks.

Transnet Wireless is establishing a national network of Wi-Fi Hot Spots through an innovative private local distributorship program where the Hot Spot equipment is placed in locations at no cost to the location owner. The hardware, maintenance and monthly Internet connection fees are all paid for by the local distributor who profits from usage fees. A percentage of the revenues are also shared with the location.

With the upgrade to the VendiStore platform, Transnet Wireless kiosk options now include Web surfing, access to pre-paid long distance and cellular PIN sales, and video games. The WebRaiser VendiStore platform includes a state-of-the-art remote management system equipped with an automated back-up recovery service, and an advertising presentation and tracking system, which adds another income stream from display advertising sales.

"VendiStore significantly enhances our capabilities for expanding the Transnet Wireless vending product offering. VendiStore allows our customers to better merchandise their locations with digital products and services that create winning scenarios for kiosk users, location hosts and our network of kiosk distributors," Cartwright said.
