Transit system kiosks in Pittsburgh, Las Vegas draw high customer use

March 21, 2018

CHK's America's Connectpoint Interactive Kiosks deployed in several locations throughout Pittsburgh and Las Vegas have garnered significant use, the company reported in a press release. The initiatives have focused on educating transit customers about services that are available via a user interface coupled with content.

Of the kiosks deployed across the Port Authority of Allegheny, Pennsylvania, transit system, monthly use numbers for one kiosk included 25,119  route-planning interactions, 2,370 "trail blazer" look-ups and 1,1777 trip plans.

The Las Vegas RTC kiosks tallied monthly use numbers for one kiosk at 18,932 for route-planning interactions, 4,461 "trail blazer" look-ups and 2,476 trip plans.

Connectpoint Interactive Kiosks allow users to access real-time arrival information and plan their trip within the transit system while also being able to incorporate first and last mile choices — including personal car, bicycle or walking. In addition, the trip-planning module allows customers to interact with the mapping database so they can search for specific places without doing a trip plan.
