Tekrati: Transactional financial services kiosks are making a comeback as a vehicle for serving "fringe" banking users, according to research conducted by Aite Group. The analysts define fringe-banking users as unbanked and underbanked consumers, as well as banked consumers who may use alternative financial services providers for convenience reasons. Aite Group expects the number of transactional financial services kiosks to grow from about 21,400 in 2004 to 57,400 by 2009.
