TouchSystems' screens find home among pollsters

March 20, 2002

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Survey America Inc. has selected TouchSystems Corp.'s MediaTouch touchscreen to use for conducting polls, according to a TouchSystems news release. Survey America develops touchscreen software for marketing research and other interactive marketing applications.

MediaTouch is a 15.1" resistive touchscreen.

According to Survey America's Web site, the 25-year-old Winter Park, Fla.-based company found that all demographic groups respond well to touchscreens.

The release stated that two other polling companies, OpinioNation and TechXperts, use TouchSystems as their touchscreen vendor.

Reg Shrigley, president of Survey America, said that touchscreen kiosks are more effective than pollsters, whom people will avoid, the release stated.

Debbie Russell, chief executive officer of TechXPerts, based in Boca Raton, Fla., said that the company could create a 150-page report in one day using polling kiosks. Standard polling methods might take six weeks. She also said kiosks improve the accuracy, speed and cost of the analysis, according to the release.
