Touch-screen parking meter kiosks arrive in Lindenhurst, New York

The village of Lindenhurst, New York is installing touch-screen parking meters, according to a Patch report.

The touch-screen parking meter kiosks will accept both coins and credit cards and are expected to be open on June 19.

In addition to the parking meter kiosks, the village is introducing pay-by-app and pay-by-text options to allow drivers to pay without having to directly interact with the kiosks. The system will also number most parking spaces — users must enter these numbers when beginning any parking transaction.
