Tote.ai has introduced what it calls the first AI-native point-of-sale system built specifically for fuel and convenience stores. It is designed to modernize customer experience, streamline operations and reduce training costs, according to a press release.
Unlike traditional systems that layer AI onto legacy software, Tote.ai's platform embeds intelligence into its core architecture. The system uses live data to trigger real-time actions such as restarting pumps, initiating inventory workflows or personalizing promotions. It also links all customer interactions, from app orders to in-store purchases, under a single virtual cart to create a seamless shopping experience.
"Tote.ai was built to be AI-native from the ground up to easily layer on top of existing hardware, giving the modern AI and shopping experience customers expect, without ripping and replacing what they already have," Shyam Rao, founder and CEO, Tote.ai, said in the release.
The system includes the Tote Device Cloud, which monitors and manages store equipment such as pumps, kiosks and terminals across multiple locations. An embedded Associate AI Agent called Genie provides employees with real-time task guidance and troubleshooting support, aiming to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
