Toshiba introduces new kiosk screens

March 26, 2002

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. (TAEC) introduced a new addition to its supply of industrial liquid crystal displays (LCD), the 10.4-inch and 12.1-inch thin film transistor (TFT) LCD modules.

Designated as the LTM10C210 and LTM12C285, the 10.4-inch VGA and 12.1-inch SVGA TFT LCD modules meet the requirements of AC-powered applications, including kiosks, factory automation, test and measurement, financial and point-of-sale.

These new modules offer front-of-screen performance, brightness, contrast and wide viewing angles.

The LTM10C210 and LTM12C285 include a long-life, cold cathode fluorescent lamp backlighting system, with replaceable lamps in each module, with a mean half-brightness lifetime of 50,000 hours. The LTM12C285 has a built-in reverse scanning feature, switchable between the 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock viewing directions.

Toshiba plans to introduce a 10.4-inch SVGA low-temperature, poly-silicon high-brightness LCD in the second half of 2001.
