TiroMedia releases GPIO board for easy integration

September 5, 2011

TiroMedia, a Colorado-based digital signage technology company, recently launched the SCB-610, a GPIO (General Purpose Input Output) adapter that can be used in conjunction with the TMP N6 Digital Signage player.

It can be used to build interactive kiosks and displays and includes adding external buttons that correspond to specific functionality. For instance, when a customer presses a button, a specific content is played back. In addition, other buttons can be mapped to other playback functions (play, pause, skip, etc). Other modules can also be connected to the SCB-610 (motion sensors, etc). This makes integration with most kiosk systems extremely easy. The module is already pre-set with the most common functions and can be configured using the on-board DIP switch.

Other features include:

  • 12-port terminal block.
  • Connects to buttons, sensors, etc.
  • Programmable functions for ports (using dip switch)
  • Full playback control (play, stop, jump to track, etc)
  • Optional integration with motion sensor.
  • Compact size.
  • And easy integration with players.
