A request to tip at a self-serve kiosk at the Newark Liberty International Airport has generated extensive backlash from people on Reddit, according to a Daily Mail report.

A woman who purchased a meal at a Cibo Express Gourmet Market at the airport posted a photo of the kiosk screen asking for a tip.

The post drew 109,000 interactions and more than 4,600 comments.

Others travelers shared similar photos from the kiosk.

The photo shows a tip request on a touchscreen for the purchase of a $14.99 chicken Caesar wrap and a $6.39 bottle of Vita coconut water.

The screen asks "Would you like to leave a tip?" and suggests three options: a 15% tip of $3.31, an 18% tip of $3.85, a 20% of $4.28 and "no tip."

OTG, the management firm that operates the store, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey which runs the airport, did not respond to requests for comment from DailyMail.com Wednesday.
