BURNABY, B.C. — TIO Networks Corp., a multi-channel expedited bill payment processor, and San Antonio Water System (SAWS) have announced the launch of a new self-serve automated bill payment service.
SAWS cash-preferred customers can conveniently pay their bills 24/7 viaself-service automated kiosks at 27 participating convenience stores in SanAntonio, Texas. Nearly 400,000 households and businesses in San Antonio will have access to expedited bill payment services at more than 80 neighborhood locations.
Customers can navigate through the billpay application in either English or Spanish, securely view their account balance, complete financial transactions and print or e-mail their receipts. Once the payment is accepted, TIO uses a file-based integration developed by both SAWS and TIO, to ensure time-sensitive posting to the customer's account. Customers pay a convenience fee for this service.
SAWS customers will also be able to leverage TIO's new expedited billpayment processing link to SAWS by paying at over 55 other "clerk-assisted"locations in the metro San Antonio area.
"Our objective is to provide SAWS' customers with alternative solutions to manage their personal finances, making both bill payment and life a little easier," said Chris Ericksen, senior vice president of services for TIO Networks Corp.
"SAWS selected TIO as its payment kiosk provider due to the large numberof existing payment outlets in the utility's service area. The service is provided at no direct cost to SAWS, with only a nominal per-payment service fee collected from customers who use the kiosks at non-SAWS locations," said Joseph Ramon, manager of customer support for SAWS.
TIO is a leading multi-channel expedited bill payment processor serving the largest telecom, wireless, cable and utility bill issuers in North America, with over 11,000 endpoints to its processing network.
Since 1992, San Antonio Water System, a municipally owned utility, has provided leadership in managing and developing water resources in the San Antonio region. Water and wastewater services are provided to more than one million consumers in the San Antonio area.
