COSTA MESA, Calif. - Event-goers ordering through Tickets.com will soon see more chances to use an ATM/ticketing kiosk to pick-up their tickets.
VAST Inc. (Value Automated Systems Ticketing), developer of the "Attendant Free"-Automated Ticket and Teller Machine (ATTM), and Tickets.com, a ticketing software and services provider for live events, have signed an expanded, multi-year agreement to deploy VAST's ATTMs across Tickets.com's client base.
With VAST's ATTMs, consumers can obtain event tickets purchased through Tickets.com on the Internet or by telephone. This provides Tickets.com clients a 24/7 ticket distribution source. VAST's ATTMs accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, many affinity cards and make change to the nickel. The ATTM can dispense marketing materials and sell gift certificates as well.
According to the companies, will-call transactions at the VAST devices take one-fourth the time required to process through a ticket attendant. Each device reportedly eliminates about 4,000 man-hours per year and offers venue operators income from banking services, advertising and sponsorships.
The Tickets.com/VAST agreement spans seven years. The companies formed an alliance more than two years ago and first installed an ATM/ticketing kiosk at the San Francisco Giants' Pacific Bell Park.
The Tickets.com client base includes professional sports organizations, stadiums, arenas and performing arts centers in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia and Latin America. Tickets.com is the official ticket supplier to the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
