Travelers at the railway station in Vadodara, India, will now be able to skip the line to the counter by purchasing tickets from a card-operated ticketing kiosk, according to a report by The Times of India.

The railway division deployed the kiosk as a way to reduce lines and to allow travelers to use alternate forms of payment such as smart cards. "The difference between conventional automatic ticket vending machine and COTVM is acceptance of cash (notes as well as coins) in addition to smart cards," said Pradeep Banerjee, senior commercial manager of Vadodara railway division.

Travelers can also purchase season tickets in addition to one-time platform tickets. The Vadodara railway division has installed four of these kiosks at the Vadodara, Bharuch and Anand railway stations.
