Ticket kiosk opens for Broadway In Chicago producer

September 21, 2010

The theater producer Broadway in Chicago unveiled its newest ticketing innovation today at the upscale Water Tower Place mall — a self-service ticket kiosk. Users may purchase tickets to any of Broadway In Chicago's performances.

The ticket kiosk is powered by Ticketmaster. Working much like an ATM or an airline boarding pass kiosk, the Broadway In Chicago ticket kiosk allows patrons to purchase and print their tickets, by credit card, to any Broadway In Chicago show. Tickets to about half a dozen shows are available now through the kiosk.

Broadway In Chicago was created in July 2000 as a joint venture between The Nederlander Organization and Live Nation, the two largest commercial theatre producers and owners/operators in the United States. In 2007, Nederlander acquired Live Nation Theatrical's interests in Chicago, changing Broadway In Chicago from a joint venture to a Nederlander Company.

Water Tower Place is owned and managed by General Growth Properties Inc. GGP currently has ownership interest in, or management responsibility for, more than 200 regional shopping malls.
