Thailand is taking a significant step toward modernizing its healthcare system with the introduction of telehealth kiosks, according to a Borneo Bulletin report.

Developed in partnership with Touch Technology Co Ltd, the healthcare kiosks allow patients to measure vital signs like temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure. The collected data is then transmitted to an online system for remote consultations with doctors.

Patients can opt for home delivery of prescriptions or pick them up from participating pharmacies under the 30-baht universal healthcare scheme. This initiative aligns with the government's vision to expand the scheme into a "30-baht anywhere" service, making quality healthcare more accessible and reducing the burden on hospitals, according to the news report.

The first kiosks are being deployed in locations across Bangkok, including Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal Station and the Din Daeng Kheha 1 and Kheha 2 communities and have the potential to serve up to 72 patients daily.
